Roham Shamekh design studio is set to unveil “The Fruit of Love”, a unique sculptural poetry series alongside a capsule collection of design in Paris this fall at the Menart Fair from September 15th to 17th during the French Heritage Days and Paris Design Week.

Celebrating the beauty and the shared values of our civilization lies at the heart of Roham Shamekh’s motto, eloquently named “universal sculptural poetry.” Roham Shamekh, based in Dubai, is emerging as one of the region’s most celebrated designers. His creation, the “Vase of Humanity,” pays homage to the creativity that ignited humanity’s earliest signs of flourishing through agriculture. It was through the ingenious use of intelligence and creativity that humans initiated agricultural activities, propelling the world towards prosperity and giving rise to some of the greatest civilizations, driven by both emotion and reason.

The vessel, symbolized since its early prehistoric days, represents this transition towards an advanced world that we inherit from our past. Just as a flower blooms only when nurtured by human care, this artwork signifies how humanity’s essence shines through its fundamental form, embodied by the vessel – a symbol of agriculture and civilizations spanning from ancient times to the present day.

In addition to the “Vase of Humanity,” Roham Shamekh’s creation, the “50th Candlesticks,” symbolizes reception and fertility. It echoes the aspirations of individuals as they navigate the passage of time, with resin representing the transient nature of life, its comings and goings. It highlights the beauty and acceptance of the perpetual cycle of existence that never ceases. The 50 candlesticks serve as a commemoration of any half-birthday, marking various stages of life’s ongoing journey.

Together, these artistic creations form a covenant of beauty through sculptural poetry, radiating love as the driving force propelling our world forward.

As one of the region’s most celebrated multi-disciplinary designer, alongside designer Nada Debs – Shamekh explores human connections and the transformative power of love through sensational sculptures, paintings, and installations that are both provocative, poetic and lyrical. The inspiration of these artworks comes from archaeological relics dating back to the Hellenistic period, drawn from various Middle East cultures throughout historyJewish, Arab, Persian, and Turkish alike.

In the 50th candlestick series, each piece symbolizes a meaningful fruit echoing the essence of paradise representing universal beauty and fulfillment amidst personal and global life’s challenges, while also questioning the notions of transgression, profanity and taboo.

Vase of Humanity radiates with grandeur while the humble 50 handcrafted candlestick holders, offering a unique way to enliven spaces with utilitarian decorative items infused with both wit, poetry love and humor.

The 50 handmade candlesticks holders “50th Candlestick” will also be launched in Dubai for the Middle East after being showcased for the first time this fall at this 4th edition of Menart Fair under the patronage of the French Minister of Culture and live on Artsy.
